    Solubility Slightly soluble in water, soluble in most organic solvents.

    Product Properties:

    1.It is miscible with most organic solvents such as ethanol, ether, benzene and animal and vegetable oils. It is an excellent solvent for cellulose nitrate, polyvinyl chloride, polyvinyl acetate, polystyrene, epoxy resin, natural and synthetic rubber, DDT, 2,4-D and many organic substances. Can be formulated into a low viscosity solution to prevent gelation.

    2.Chemical properties: carbonyl group in the molecule and the neighbouring hydrogen atoms are rich in chemical reactivity, chemical properties similar to butanone. For example, when oxidised by strong oxidising agents such as chromic acid, it generates acetic acid, isobutyric acid, isovaleric acid, carbon dioxide and water. Catalytic hydrogenation gives 4-methyl-2-pentanol. An addition product is produced with sodium bisulfite. Condensation with other carbonyl compounds in the presence of a basic catalyst.     Product Application:

    1.This product can be used as a solvent for all kinds of industrial coatings, as well as a solvent for the production of high-grade paints for automobiles, inks, cassette tapes, video tapes and so on. It is also used as ore dressing agent, oil dewaxing agent and colouring agent for colour film.

    2.It also has excellent solubility for organometallic compounds. The peroxide of this product is an important initiator in the polymerisation reaction of polyester resins. It is also used as solvent for organic synthesis and atomic absorption spectrophotometric analysis.

    3.It is mainly used as solvent. In addition to a large number of paints, paint strippers, a variety of synthetic resins as a solvent, but also used as adhesives, DDT, 2,4-D, pyrethroids, penicillin, tetracycline, rubber glue, atomic absorption spectrophotometric analysis of the solvent.
