    Product Description:

Colourless transparent or white slightly yellow rhombic crystals, density 2.257 (at 20°C), bitter and salty taste, easily soluble in water and liquid ammonia, slightly soluble in glycerol and ethanol, easy to deliquesce, in the presence of a very small amount of sodium chloride impurities, sodium nitrate deliquescence is greatly increased. It is oxidising. It can cause explosion when contacted with flammable materials. It is irritating to respiratory system and skin.

    Application:

Used in the manufacture of potassium nitrate, explosives, picric acid and other nitrates, also used as defoamer and decolorant of glass, co-solvent of enamel industry, tobacco accelerant, metal cleaner and preparation of ferrous metal bluing agent, heat treatment of aluminium alloy and molten caustic soda colouring agent, used as fertilizer in agriculture.
